CONCRETE
The
concrete mix design should satisfy the specific performance
criteria as specified by the engineer.
Aggregates must be non-reactive.
Water content should be kept to a minimum.
PREPARATION
The
mixing drum must be clean and free from all previous mix build
up. It is important all cementitous components are consistently
accurately weighed for colour uniformity. The source of all
materials should remain consistent. Any changes to the mix design
or raw material source will effect the final result.
NOTE:-
To achieve colour uniformity from mix to mix, exact amounts
of all ingredients per batch must be maintained. Additional
water must not be added on site.
ADDING
PICSTINT
The addition rate of PICSTINT is one 16kg unit per cubic
metre of concrete mix.
The units
should be added after 10 - 15% of the mix has been added to
the mixer, evenly throughout the remainder of the batch. DO
NOT ADD PICSTINT prior to addition of 10 - 15% of the total
mix.
For on-site
addition of PICSTINT allow 15 minutes mixing time at
mixing speed until uniform colour has been achieved.
FINISHING
A
variety of finishes are available from trowel or brush to textured
and non-slip. Ensure appropriate finishing tools are available.
CURING
Cure only with PICS Low Solids Sealer (CM42). DO NOT
cure using hessian, sand or plastic sheeting as colour uniformity
will be effected.
