PICS PERMASEAL SF

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
PERMASEAL Solvent Free (SF) is a clear, UV light-stable solution designed to penetrate and stabilise the jointing sand of block paving and pre-cast flagstones to inhibit the growth of weeds and moss and reduce sand loss. PERMASEAL SF will also seal the paving to enhance the appearance whilst facilitating the easy removal of oil and other stains.

PURPOSE
PERMASEAL SF has been designed to protect jointing sand from erosion thus reducing movement and weed infestation in block paved surfaces. In addition it can improve the aesthetic appearance of blocks, paving slabs and other cementitious substrates and increase abrasion resistance.

Inhibits the growth of moss and weeds.
Excellent resistance to water whitening.
Enhances the colour of the paving.
Facilitates the easy removal of oil and other contamination.
Will not blister or peel.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
PERMASEAL SF should be used in dry weather when rain is not forecast.
PERMASEAL SF can be applied using spray and squeegee at a rate of 3 m2 per litre to an easily managed area not exceeding 10m2 at any one time. In the event that two applications are required the second application must be applied prior to the first application becoming tack-free. PERMASEAL SF will be tack-free after two hours at 20ºC and foot traffic may be permitted after 12 hours. Vehicles should be kept off the treated area for a minimum of 24 hours at 20ºC. These times may be increased or reduced depending on the ambient temperature. During the drying cycle protect from rain. Do not apply when the ground temperature is above 30ºC or below 5ºC. Clean all equipment after use with clean water.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
New block or flagstone paving should be swept clean, ensuring there is sufficient well-compacted sand in the joints. Existing paving should be pressure washed to remove all surface debris. If the area is contaminated with weeds & moss then it should be treated with PICS Fungicidal Wash.
Oil & other stains should be removed using PICSCLEAN degreaser. The treated area should then be left to dry & the joints re-sanded & compacted to the lower edge of the paver chamfers with clean kiln-dried sand. Moisture in the paver & sand will inhibit penetration of the sealer and produce whiteness.

TECHNICAL & TEST DATA
PERMASEAL SF has been tested for chemical resistance by one hour exposure to a range of substances, including used motor oil, deionised water, 10% sodium hydroxide, sodium chloride, calcium chloride, trisodium phosphate, ammonia and hydrochloric acid, all with no effect. PERMASEAL SF is supplied in 25 litre U.N. approved drums and covers approximately 3m2 per litre - in one or two applications, depending on the paving porosity and joint size.

SPECIFICATION CLAUSE
"Newly laid block or flagstone paving shall be treated with PERMASEAL SF from PICS (Tel. 01635 202224) to protect and stabilise jointing sand and enhance surface colour and increase abrasion resistance. All materials should comply to ISO9002 for Quality Assurance. All work should be carried out in conjunction with the manufacturer's current technical data sheet and instructions for use".

HEALTH AND SAFETY
PERMASEAL SF is non-toxic and non-flammable. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Flush affected areas with water. Do not take internally. Refer to Health & Safety data sheet for further information.
