PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
PICSTAIN Chemical Stain's are a combination of metallic salts formulated
to "colour etch" the surface of both old & new concrete
surfaces. Available in 8 colours & when applied, PICSTAIN will
etch new or existing concrete creating a mottled colour effect that will
permanently enhance the existing concrete surface. The number of applications
of PICSTAIN can control the depth of colour. PICSTAIN is
designed to achieve a variegated finish including broad drifts in colour.
This is not considered a defect but is part of the overall character of
this system.
PURPOSE
PICSTAIN is used to add colour and design to internal floors, large
expanses of existing concrete and to create a variety of aesthetic effects
for new concrete paving. Best results are achieved when used in conjunction
with PICS Colour Surface Hardener.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please initially refer to the PICSTAIN detailed application instructions
or consult the technical department prior to application.
MAINTAINANCE
All installations should be professionally cleaned and re-sealed periodically
in order to maintain a quality appearance. Intervals are dependant upon
the volume of traffic, U.V. exposure & weather conditions, expect
to clean & re-seal every 12 - 24 months.
LIMITATIONS/SITE
SAMPLES
Inconsistencies in concrete mix designs, curing methods, age & condition
of concrete surfaces, finishing techniques & surface porosity will
result in variations in the colour of the finished product.
It is recommended that PICS CSH is used in the construction of
new concrete surfaces in order to more accurately control the final results.
Using PICS
CSH will enable control over the quality of the finished surface.
For existing concrete surfaces it is strongly recommended that a sample
area be treated with PICSTAIN in order to view the variegated finish.

TEST DATA
Packaging: Supplied in 5 & 25lt containers.
Yield: Between 6 & 10 m² per litre per application.
Coverage: Variable depending on type of finish & age of concrete.
Colour Density: Improved when used in conjunction with PICS CSH
on new projects.
Storage: Approx 12 months, when stored in cool conditions. Keep @ 40°F
(5°C) minimum
Colour Range: Available in 8 colours. Please refer to PICSTAIN
colour chart.
Equipment List: Contractors should ensure appropriate equipment is available
in good condition. A list of equipment is available from PICS.
SPECIFICATION CLAUSE
"For New Concrete Surfaces. The slab shall be finished with PICS
CSH, colour & final finish (as specified). The appropriate (colour)
PICSTAIN will be applied to a test sample to determine final results.
The application of PICSTAIN will be carried out in strict accordance
with manufacturers application instructions. Concrete to be stained will
be cured in a uniform and consistent manner using water or high quality
curing paper. Spray applied curing membranes should not be used".
HEALTH AND SAFETY
PICSTAIN should be applied using the appropriate protective clothing
& equipment. DO NOT ingest, avoid inhalation of fumes, skin &
eye contact. Refer to Health & Safety Data Sheet for detailed information.
